commentable turns HTML and PDFs into private links people can comment on. You paste or upload the work, we hand back a link under your branding, and everyone you send it to can pin feedback directly on the page. No accounts for reviewers, no email threads, no "see my notes in the attached screenshot."
Why we built it
Sharing work-in-progress kept meaning a bad choice: a public link on someone else's domain, or an email attachment nobody opens. Feedback arrived detached from the work, in replies about "the button near the top," and every round meant reconciling notes from three channels. We wanted the obvious third option: the work lives at a private link that looks like yours, and the feedback lands on the exact pixel it's about. That product didn't exist the way we wanted it, so we built it.
What we believe
Privacy should be structural, not promised. Pages are encrypted in your browser before they reach us, and the decryption key travels in the link itself, after the #, which browsers never send to servers. We store ciphertext and only ciphertext. We could not read your client's proposal if we wanted to, and neither could anyone who breached us. Passwords and expiry dates layer on top when the stakes call for it. The detail is in our privacy policy, which is shorter and plainer than most.
Reviewers owe you nothing.Every sign-up screen between a reviewer and their first comment costs you feedback, usually from the person whose opinion you needed most. Anyone with the link can comment. That's the whole flow.
Your work should carry your name.Your logo, your colors, and on the paid plan your own domain. A client reviewing your work should never feel like they left your world for someone else's tool.
Links shouldn't outlive their purpose.Most shared pages have a natural lifespan, so expiry is built in, with reminders before anything vanishes. A link that no longer exists is the only link that can't leak.
The team
commentable is built by a small team of product people and engineers who have shipped products at large tech companies and startups, and got tired of watching good work get reviewed badly. Small is deliberate: it keeps the product fast, the decisions opinionated, and the support answered by someone who can actually fix your problem.
